ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A flow process is described for the chlorination of titaniferous materials en route to the provision of high purity titanium. The flow process utilizes a special micro- porous carbon reductant characterized by having pores with a pore diameter of less than 20 .ANG. to give improved reaction rates and completeness of reaction in a reaction zone of reasonable length.
