ABSTRACT The locking rods (6) are slidably supported in C-shaped restricted receiving grooves (3) of the casement (1). The locking rods (6) have a U-shaped cross-section and have side legs (7) which are respectively provided with a side groove extending over the entire length of the rod. Each side groove is limited by a lower crosspiece with a thickness S1 and an upper crosspiece with a thickness S2. The height of each side groove has the dimension N. The height H1 Of the receiving groove (3) is greater than the overall height H2 Of the locking rod (6) by the crosspiece thick- ness S1. The receiving grooves as well as the associated locking rods (6) have the same cross-section in all frame pieces of the casement. The receiving grooves (3) have inwardly extending edge strips (5) whose overall height H3 is somewhat less than the height N of the side grooves. The locking rods can occupy two installation positions I or II. In installation position I the side legs of the locking rod are supported on the bottom surface (4) of the receiving groove (3), whereas in installation position II the locking rod (6) is slidably supported on the edge strips (5) of the receiving groove (Figure 1).
