In the course of the isothermal wet treatment of textile material in rope form in jet dyeing units, the introduction of dissolved or dispersed treating agents to the fabric-recirculating gas stream on the pressure side of the blower still falls short of the optimum of efficient processing because this way of introducing the treating agent requires the presence of a specific injection cycle. By omitting the separate injection cycle and metering the treating agent into the driving gas stream at a point upstream (on the aspiration side) of the blower responsible for circulating the fabric, the invention realizes appreciable hardware simplifications which have beneficial effects not only technically but also in terms of energy comsumption, costs and ecological aspects.
