PRECIS L'invention concerne un procédé de fabrication de laminés en acier présentant une bonne soudabilité, une haute limite d'élasticité, ainsi qu'une résilience à très basses températures. Le procédé selon l'invention est caractérisé en ce que l'on soumet un acier titrant au ma- ximum 0,16% C, 2,0% Mn et 0,03% Al au minimum à un laminage, puis soumet les laminés obtenus à un traitement thermique pour obtenir un grain très fin; ce traitement thermique consiste à réchauffer les laminés en 2ème chaude jusqu'à température d'austénitisation, à les maintenir à cette température pendant un temps suffisamment court pour empêcher le grossissement du grain et à procéder à un refroidissement énergique en surface. L'invention s'applique notamment à la fabrication de ronds à béton.
