Lock ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Sodium aurothiomalate used as a therapeutic agent or as a com- ponent in a therapeutic agent is shown to be a mixture of substances, one of which is non-toxic to blood platelets, shows specific spectral absorp- tion visibility and does not demonstrate the usual irregular gold con- taining particles in platelets. As well as being an improvement on the mixture currently employed, the colourless type of sodium aurothiomalate shows promise as an antithrombitic agent.
