ABSTRACT OF DISCLOSURE: A method for opening a closed portion of a pour orifice for molten steel in a slide closure device comprises mounting an injection device on a desired nozzle of the slide closure device, directing an outlet of an injection tube of the injection device toward the closed portion of the pour orifice and injecting gas or flame to the above closed portion. The injection tube can be made of a plurality of telescopic tubes which can extend or retract in an axial direction.
