Barnard 1 VORTEX FLOW METER ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The performance of a vortex fluid flow meter is en- hanced by the provision of a pair of parallel guide plates between which the vortex generating body is mounted. The plates confine the fluid in the region of the body to a substantially two dimensional flow thus generating a highly regular vortex street. In an alternative configura- tion the bluff body is enclosed within a square or rec- tangular section tube and in this form may be used as a probe or insertion meter.
