PROCESS FOR ISOMERIZING ALKYL AROMATIC HYDROCARBONS ABSTRACT Ethylbenzene is isomerized selectively to produce para xylene by passing ethylbenzene and hydrogen under isomerizing conditions over a catalyst comprising ZSM-22 or ZSM-23 zeolite and a hydrogenation/ dehydrogenation metal, wherein the hydrogenation/dehydrogenation metal is incorporated in the catalyst after any steaming of the zeolite.
