ABSTRACT An apparatus and method for the continuous pressing of comminuted or chipped materials into multilayer products is disclosed. The quality and com- position of the particular layer desired in the end product can be determined by means of a multicompartmented hopper into which materials of various sizes and qualities are fed. The materials are then continuously and controllably fed into a pressing chamber into which a pressing piston operates in one preferred direction, namely the direction of the feed, and a pair of pressing ram means act from both sides, the interaction of all pressing means forcing the pressed product into a channel at the output of the pressing chamber. Heating elements arranged adjacent to the output channel will heat the com- pressed material to a temperature sufficient to assure complete solidification and hardening of the end product.
