PRECIS DE LA DIVULGATION: La présente invention concerne une méthode de transmission de données d'information ou de mesure et les dispositifs de mise en oeuvre de la méthode. Selon l'invention, la méthode de transmission de données d'information ou de mesure depuis un dispositif local, de mesure implanté sur un site éloigné vers une station centrale d'interrogation implantée sur un lieu central où les données sont traitées, par utilisation du réseau P.T.T. tout en permettant une utilisation normale de la ligne téléphonique, comprend les étapes suivantes pour transmettre des données depuis la station locale vers la station centrale d'interrogation: émission d'un premier appel du central vers la station locale sur la ligne dont la sonnerie du poste appelé est momentanément neutralisée, réitération, après un certain laps de temps, de l'appel par la station centrale, prise de la ligne par le dispositif local, et exécution de la procédure de transmission.
