The invention consists of mineral wool compounds used for soil-less cultivation. The compound for soil-less cultivation as defined in this invention, is composed of mineral-fibre felt, processed in the form of blocks (10) suitable for the cultivation of a multiplicity of seedlings. The main feature of this compound is that the structure of the blocks is such that, when in use, the fibres are arranged essentially in the vertical plane (9). As defined in this invention, the compound brings about an improvement in the performance of seedlings.
