PROCESS FOR THE CONVERSION OF ALCOHOLS INTO PETROCHEMICALS ABSTRACT Alcohols, especially methanol, are converted into light olefins rich in ethylene and C5+ hydrocarbon products. After separation of ethylene, propylene and butenes may be converted into olefinic gasoline and olefinic distillate. A suspension of vaporized reactants and catalyst of zeolite crystals is passed through the reaction zone at elevated temperature and pressure. The distillate product may be treated with hydrogen to produce a high quality diesel and/or jet fuel.
