ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOS~RE Compo~lnds of the formula ~IMAGE> (I) wherein the 9-chlorine atom can be in the ~- or ~-position, Rl is OR2, wherein R2 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl having from 1 -to 4 carbon a-toms, or the radical NHR3 in which R3 repre- sents a hydrogen atom or an acyl group of a carboxylic acid having 1 to 10 carbon atoms or a sulphonic acid radical A is -CH2-CH2- or cis-CH=CH-, B is -CH2-CH2-, trans-CH=CH-, or -C-C-, W is hydroxyme-thylene wherein the group of DER5 is other than n-pentyl ~IMAGE~, wherein the OH-group in each case can be in the ~- or ~- position, and may be etherified or esterified by tetrahydropy- ranyl, tetrahydrofuranyl, N-ethoxyethyl, trirne-thyls:ilyl,dimethyl, tert-butylsilyl, tribenzylsilyl, acetyl, propionyl, butyryl or ben~oyl; D and E together represent a direct bond or D is a straight-chain or branched alkylene group of 1-5 carbon atoms, which may be substituted by fluorine, and E is oxygen or a direc-t bond, and R4 is hydroxy or hydroxy e-theriEied or esterified as defined for W above; R5 represents a straigh-t-chain or branched- chain, saturated or unsaturated alkyl group having from 1 -to 6 carbon a-toms, which may be substi-tu-ted by halogen, or a phenyl group which may be substit`uted by from 1 to 3 halogen atoms or by a trifluoromethyl group; or a physiologically acceptable salt thereof wi-th a base when Rl is OH have valuable pharmological properties.
