ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A white fluorescent material containing Y2O2S as a matrix and activators consisting of Tb and Eu both added within the range of 0.05 to 0.3 mol %. The white fluorescent material exhibits neither color shading nor uneven light emission and is readily dispersible.
