ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A head box for a paper machine, which comprises a distributor beam part, a distribution part connected thereto, and a turbulence generator followed by a slice-cone part. The turbulence generator is provided with a large number of flow holes. The outlet mouths of these flow holes open themselves into flow slots of the turbulence generator, the direction of the middle plane of the said flow slots being at an angle (?) of about 5° to 45° to the axial direction of the flow holes. The magnitude of the angle (?) is preferably ?= about 10° to 20°. The axial direction of the holes in the turbulence generator declines at an angle (.beta.) of about 5° to 15° as compared with the upwardly slanting main direction of the flow prevailing in the equalizing chamber.
