ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A process for increasing the production of deasphalted oil comprises passing a hydrocarbon feed- stock into a first distillation zone wherein the feedstock is separated into a first distillate and a first residuum. At least a fraction of the first residuum is passed to a second distillation zone to produce a second distillate and a second residuum. Second distillate and at least a fraction of the first residuum are passed to a deasphalting zone and contacted with a solvent to produce a deasphalted oil.
