A B S T R A C T A shoe is disclosed comprising a sole member having an underfoot surface to underlie and support a user's foot and side surfaces bordering the underfoot surface. A removable, flexible vamp member extends from one side of the sole member over a user's foot to the other side of the sole member. Peripheral side edge portions of the vamp member are removably coupled to side surfaces of the sole member on either side thereof by a combination of hook members and VELCRO- type tape. The hook members extend outwardly from the side surfaces of the code member then downwardly. The hook members engage in eyelets provided on side edge portions of the vamp member. This shoe construction provides improved interchangability of sole members and vamp members by the user.
