Abstract Novel biocidal pyridine derivatives of the formula: Image (I) in which n is 0, 1 or 2, R is a saturated aliphatic radical with up to 4 C atomswhich is optionally substituted by one or more fluorine or chlorine atoms, or isan unsaturated aliphatic radical with up to 4 C atoms, or is a benzyl radical ora chlorine-substituted or methyl-substituted benzyl radical, W and X, which may be identical or different, each represent hydrogen, Cl, F, Br, I or C1-C4-alkyl,Y is hydrogen, Cl, F, Br, or C1-C4-alkyl and Z is Cl or F are disclosed, as wellas a process for their preparation and their use as biocidal, especially herbici- dal, agents.
