ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A system for recording and/or reproducing digital data on a magnetic floppy disk, in which the address data of the digital data is nonsuccessive relative to an original time sequence thereof by the addition of error correction bits to the digital data, involves re-arrangement of the digital data by providing a buffer memory between the floppy disk apparatus and a peripheral device, the buffer memory having a capacity capable of completing the re-arrangement of the digital data, and includes allocating the digital data to the buffer memory such that pure data and the error correction bits are respectively stored in different memory areas of the buffer memory. Address data is converted upon writing or reading the digital data from the buffer memory so as to allocate the address data such that it appears to be nonsuccessive, as seen from a recorded pattern of the disk, but it appears to be successive, as seen from the peripheral device.
