ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A color information display apparatus is disclosed which includes a first memory for memorizing pattern or code data to be displayed, a second memory for memorizing color data describing an attribute of the corresponding pattern or code data, a circuit for generat- ing address signals for said first and second memories in response to a scanning position, a parallel-serial converting circuit for converting parallel pattern and code data in the first memory to serial data, a first latch circuit for latching the color data in the second memory, and a circuit for generating a color signals from the serial data from the parallel-serial converting circuit and the output signal from the first latch circuit. In this case, the first memory and the second memory are contained in a common memory of an integrated circuit con- figuration; a first address area for the pattern or code data and a second address area for the color data are selected different each other. And, the apparatus further comprises an address selector connected between the address signal generating circuit and the common memory, the first address area and the second address area of the common memory being addressed alternatively by the address selector, a second latch circuit for latching the pattern or code data or color data which are addressed previously; and a circuit for reading out the pattern or code data and the color code simultaneously.
