ABSTRACT A lock for operation by a magnetic key has a plurality of locking elements. Each locking element moves in its own, aligned longitudinal grooves formed in inner and outer members of the lock. The locking elements can be aligned, by means of the key, with respective transverse channels formed in the inner member of the lock and limited relative rotation of the inner and outer members is then permitted, a part of each locking element entering the corresponding transverse channel.
