DESCRIPTIVE ABSTRACT A method for the fabrication of hydroxlated nickel compounds from a solution of nickelous ions. This method is characterized by the fact that it comprises the following stages: a) said nickelous ion solution is subjected to electrolysis while the catholyte is maintained at a pH comprised between 1 and 6, and at a temperature of less than 50° C; b) the precipitate obtained during stage a) is recovered. Application in the manufacture of nickel hydroxide of high degree of purity.
