ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: Aqueous dispersions of polymeric binders are used to make a slurry of a ceramic material. The slurry is then shaped to a green part by conventional techniques such as tape casting. The slurry may be spray dried to give a free flowing powder which may be formed by dry pressing, roll compaction or other similar techniques. The tensile strength of the green part may be increased by subjecting the green part to an energy treatment such as heat or irradiation including ultraviolet (UV), X-rays and electron beams.
