Abstract of the Disclosure The present invention relates to certain new triazolyl-vinyl ketones and -carbinols, to 3 process for their preparation and to their use as fungicides. The compounds correspond to the formula Image wherein A is CO or CHOH, R1 is alkyl or haloalkyl, and R2 is optionally substituted alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, alkenynyl, phenylalkyl, indenyl, fluorenyl, diphenylmethyl or triphenylmethyl. Acid addition salts and metal salt complexes thereof are also included. The compounds can be obtained by reaction of a triazolyl-vinyl ketone or -carbinol with an organo magnesium compound in the presence of a solvent, and, if appropriate, the keto derivative formed is reduced. The active compounds are suitable for use as plant protection agents.
