Abstract Medicine for Horses & Dispenser Therefor Medicines for horses consist, for example, of pharmaceutical preparations and/or medicinal plant ac- tive ingredients which are mixed with an edible binder to form a substance solid at normal ambient temperatures and are shaped into a licking block. To develop the medicine further in such a manner that it can be admin- istered without problems and is easily digestible by the horses the binder contained in the substance formed into a licking block is a palatable mixture of sugar, glu- close, honey and salt. Such a substance is willingly accepted by all horses and can even be administered in relatively large amounts without detrimental effects. A device for dispensing the licking block consists of at least one container open at the bottom in which the licking block can be fixed by means of a holding element such that it projects slightly from the lower opening of the container.
