A condenser, comprising: a pair of headers disposed parallel with each other; a plurality of flat tubes each having its ends connected to the headers in fluid connection therewith; and heat release means, each disposed in an air flow path formed between the adjacent tubes. Each header is a brazing sheet rolled into a cylindrical shape, the brazing sheet being a core sheet coated with a brazing substance on at least one surface thereof. The brazing sheet having slanted or stepped ends face to face, with at least one of the slanted or stepped ends being coated with a brazing substance, and wherein a butt joint is formed between the slanted ends joined and brazed to each other.
