ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A driver for driving a disposable fluid-pumping cassette with a slideable valve comprises: a door moveably mounted on the driver between first and second positions for receiving the cassette; a valve gripping mechanism mounted on the driver moveable between first and second positions; a linking device between the door and the valve gripping mechanism to move the valve gripping mechanism between its two positions, whereby as the door is moved, the valve gripping mechanism will move the slideable valve between open and closed positions.
