ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A connector for a flat cable having an insulated flat conductor, and the combination thereof. The connector comprises a metal plate which is bendable along a bending line to form two arms, each arm having a tubular member extending toward the other arm and positioned so as to be coaxial when the tubular members are opposed. The interior size of one tubular member is larger than the exterior size of the other tubular member by at least 1/3 the thickness of the conductor so that the other member is receivable in the one member. Both members are deformable at their ends so that when the arms are brought together, the smaller member deforms inwardly and removes insulation from the conductor and also deforms the conductor without passing through the latter and the larger member deforms outwardly and removes insulation from the conductor without passing through the latter. The deformed portions of the members conductively contact the conductor.
