ABSTRACT ACYLAMINOALKANOYL COMPOUNDS New compounds are disclosed having the formula Image wherein Y is oxygen or sulfur and R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5 are as defined herein. These new compounds are useful as hypotensive agents due to their angiotensin converting enzyme inhibition activity and depending upon the selection of R1 may also be useful as analgesics due to their enkepahlinase inhibition activity.
