- 12 - O.Z. 0050/36837 Abstract of the Disclosure: Nitriles of the general for- mula I R1-CN (I) where R1 is a saturated or unsaturated, straight-chain, branched or cyclic alkyl radical, an aralkyl radical or an aryl radical, each of which is of not more than 20 car- bon atoms and can be unsubstituted or further substituted, and (meth)acrylamide are prepared simultaneously by a pro- cess in which an aldoxime of the general formula III R1-CH=NOH (III) where R1 has the above meanings, is heated at from 50 to 180°C in the presence of a copper(II) carboxylate and of (meth)acrylonitrile.
