NOVEL FORMYLGLYCINE DERIVATIVES ABSTRACT Novel formylglycine derivative of the formula II Image (II), wherein R2 is vinyl or a group -CH2-CH2-X, in which X is chlorine or bromine, or is cyano, C1-C4-alkoxycarbonyl, phenylsulfonyl, 4-bromophenylsulfonyl or 4-methylphenylsulfonyl. These derivatives are useful as intermediates for producing novel 3-phenylpyrrole derivatives having valuable microbicidal properties for controlling phytopathogenic plant pests, particularly phytopathogenic fungi.
