ABSTRACT NOVEL COLLAGENASE "DISCOLYSIN" AND PRODUCTION METHOD THEREOF Disclosed herein is a novel collagenase "discolysin". It is useful for biochemical researches and the treatment of many diseases caused by collagen, such as hernia of intervertebral disc. It can be produced by culturing a discolysin-producing bacterium belonging to the genus of Streptomyces in a culture medium and then collecting discolysin from the culture medium.
