ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention relates to polyamides which contain carboxyl groups and which after neutralization with a base are dilutable with water, can be prepared by condensation of amino compounds and an excess of carboxylic acids, and are characterized in that the reactants used are an acid mixture consisting substantially of isophthalic acid and dimerized fatty acid, and an amine mixture of trifunctional and difunc- tional amines, and the use of these polyamides in the produc- tion of aqueous bronze dispersions.
