- 1 - Abstract A seat ring for a rotary valve assembly comprising a radially inner seal section for sealing engagement with a valve element, a radially outer retaining section for mounting the seat ring in a valve body, and an intermediate spacer section interconnecting the sealing and retaining sections. The spacer section has a convoluted radial run, and the sealing section has a multiplicity of circumferential windings of strands in sur- rounding relation thereto.
