PATENT ABSTRACT A method of preventing core water from tracking through an electrical cable to a cable splice area is disclosed, The method incorporates a pair of water blocks placed on each side of the cable splice area which blocks the core water thus preventing entry into the cable splice area. The cable blocks are formed by disposing a curable blocking compound around the cable adjacent each side of the cable splice area. The curable compound hardens to a solid form thereby blocking core water penetration.
