ABSTRACT A rubber support, employed for carrying static loads, for example as a vehicle motor mount, has hydraulic damping means and includes a load bearing support and a housing which, together with an annular spring member of rubber elastic material, enclose a liquid-filled working chamber. The working chamber is connected to a balancing chamber through a damping opening and the annular spring member is constructed as a supporting spring with a vertical deformation axis. The load bearing support is supported on the housing by at least one relief spring acting parallel to the supporting spring and is made of a non-creeping or non-setting material. Such a rubber support or mount shows operational characteristics, which are maintained over the whole service life at substantially the original in-service level.
