DEVICE FOR CLEANING TEETH AND MASSAGING GUMS ABSTRACT A spool-shaped device and a method are disclosed for simultaneously cleaning the teeth, cheeks, lips and tongue and massaging the gums. The spool-shaped device has a tubular central body portion. A first flange portion is attached to an end of the central body portion and a second flange portion is attached to another end of the central body portion. The first flange portion preferably has a convex outer surface and a concave inner surface. The second flange portion preferably has a convex inner surface and a concave outer surface. The device is placed between the teeth and, when pressure is applied, the central body portion collapses and the inner surface of the first flange portion and the inner surface of the second flange portion make contact with the surfaces of the teeth and gums to provide cleaning and massaging action. The device preferably includes projections and cavities on the inner surfaces of the flange portions to provide additional cleaning action.
