A hormone capable of inducing superovulation, such as follicle stimulating hormone or pregnant mare serum gonadotropin, is entrapped within liposomes of an injectable size. The liposomes are adapted to release over a selected period of time a continually pharmaceutically effective amount of the hormone into the tissue of a mammal injected with the preparation.
