ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A structure mounted on the seabed provides a working station above the sea level. The structure has inner and outer steel skins linked by steel webs. The space between the steel skins is filled with cementitious material. The skins are built-up from individual steel plates welded to the webs and to each other so as to provide an impervious covering for the cementitious material. The spacing between the webs is less than four times the spacing between the skins to ensure that the plates do not lose integrity with the concrete when the structure is under loads. The structure provides an efficient resistance to punching or impact from ice masses or ships and so is particularly suitable for use in oil production in artic environments.
