ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A device for the withdrawal of printed sheets from the deliverer of a sheet rotary printing machine for the purpose of their verification or separation, according to the present invention, comprises a chain deliverer and series of gripper elements attached to it, and a gripper opening feature controlled by cams, whereby the withdrawal of the printed sheets is initiated by a retarded opening of the gripper elements. A swivelling device has been provided for the retarded opening of the gripper elements. This swivelling device will attack at a gripper opening cam whereby this gripper opening cam, which is designed as a disc and pivoted on a shaft, is pivotable by a specific swing angle through the swivelling device and, consequently, manoeuvrable to two end positions.
