ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: An off-the-highway vehicle tire comprising carcass means having a tread area for receiving a tread means. The tread means comprise: a first lug extending transverse to a mid-circumferential line about the tire. The first lug extends from the edge of the tread area through the mid- circumferential line, and a second lug extends traverse to a mid-circumferential line about the tire, the second lug extending from the opposite edge of the tread area to a point short of the mid-circumferential line of the tire. The second lug is disposed directly opposite the first lug such that the first and second lugs are substantially symmetrical about the mid-circumferential line. Tie bar means are disposed between the first and second lugs, and the first lug is at a substantially constant angle with respect to the mid-circumferential line.
