- 68 - ABSTRACT A copolymer useful as a stabilizer bears pendant ethylenic unsaturation and comprises the reaction product of ethylenically unsaturated monomers bearing functionality capable of condensation reaction with complementary function- ality of a copolymer reactant. The copolymer reactant is a random copolymer of (i) 20 to 45 weight percent of ethylenically unsaturated monomers, homopolymers of which woulc be substantially insoluble in a selected organic liquid,(ii) 40 to 75 weight percent of ethylenically unsaturated monomers, homopolymers of which would be substantially soluble in the organic liquid, and (iii) 2 to 15 weight percent of ethylenically unsaturated monomers bearing the complementary functionality capable of condensa- tion reaction with the ethylenically unsaturated monomers. The monomers are reacted in amounts sufficient to react at least 10 percent of the complementary functionality.
