ABSTRACT A door operator for opening and closing a door has a drive shaft to the door to move the door between open and closed positions, and a bi-directional hydraulic motor driven by a pump and connectable by a power train to the drive shaft. An hydraulic brake is connectable with the power train, and control means control the direction and duration of operation of the hydraulic motor and engage the brake whenever the motor is not provided with fluid under pressure from the pump.
