ABSTRACT A water-insoluble, normally tacky, pressure-sensitive adhesive is disclosed having reduced build up on a knife blade when that knife blade is utilized to shear a plurality of webs including a layer of the adhesive. The adhesive contains a mixture of non-volatile components including (a) a water-insoluble elastomeric polymer, (b) a tackifier and (c) a polyoxyalkylene polyol present in amount of about 3 to about 45 percent of the total non-volatile weights of components (a), (b) and (c). The adhesive components (a), (b) and (c) are dispersed substantially homogeneously when the adhesive is applied to a substrate.
