ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A vertically adjustable, shock-absorbing, mounting device particularly for supporting vibrating objects such as machines, equipment and the like. The device has a solid base with a metallic cover plate and an object-supporting plate adjustable relative to the base by means of a threaded spindle. The support plate is provided with an object-retaining ledge around the outer edge on its upper side, and the support plate is attached to the upper end of the threaded spindle. The threaded spindle is positively joined to the cover plate of the solid base. This arrangement eliminates the necessity of counter nuts. With this arrangement, no special connection features of any kind, such as the drilling of holes or the prov- ision of connector-engaging recesses are required.
