ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention relates to a prosthesis for banding an artery comprising a fatigued stainless steel helix encased in a stretchable tubing. It will constrict an artery over a prolong- ed period and subsequently be capable of dilatation by an intraluminal ballon dilator. This design permits gradual dila- tation of the prosthesis using upwardly sized balloon dilators.
