ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A device for reducing or impeding the risk of rupturing of a pipe line at a risk section thereof, for instance at a weld seam. The device includes, in the disclosed embodiment, six tension bars parallel with each other and having each the shape of a segment of a cylinder. A set of tension bands presses the tension bars onto the risk section. The device provides simple means readily applicable to an existing pipe line to obviate or impede the rupturing of the pipe line.
