ABSTRACT A multi-stage corona laminator may be used to produce a relatively thick, i.e., 10 mils or greater, corona bonded lam- inate characterized by low dielectric build-up, and preferably the presence of one or more oriented layers within the laminate material. The laminate is prepared by treating a first and second outer layer of a thermoplastic material on one surface thereof; corona treating at least one interior layer of a thermo- plastic material on both surfaces thereof; and bringing the treated surfaces of the first and second outer layers, and the at least one interior layer, into respective contact with each other such that the untreated surfaces of the first and second outer layers form the outside surfaces of the resulting laminate.
