(57) ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a method for coating a pump impeller so that the coating is carried out essentially without core structures. According to the invention, the pump impeller coating is performed in several stages so that first the impeller members (2,6) are coated either partially compiled or separately, whereafter the coated elements are assembled together. The junction surfaces formed in the coating after assembling the impeller members (2,6) together are joined for instance by means of vulcanizing.
