- 12 - "FIRETUBE ENERGY SAVING DEVICE" ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Conventionally, firetubes for raising the temperature of heavy oil and the like consist of an elongated tube through which combustion gas is passed prior to passing through a discharge stack so that a relatively large amount of heat is lost via the stack rather than heating the oil surrounding the firetube. The present device overcomes these disadvantages by providing a spindle with means to support same axially along the firetube, said spindle having a plurality of discs at inclined angles to the spindle which provide considerable turbulence to the combustion gases and force them outwardly into contact with the wall of the tube thereby dissipating more heat through the tube then heretofore and at the same time reducing the stack temperature considerably.
